Happy Valentine’s Day from Agape Moms!

No matter how your expectations are or are not being met on this Valentine’s Day, let’s marvel at God’s unconditional, Agape love for us!

God is always pursuing our wandering hearts because He wants an intimately close relationship with us, not because He is demanding an obligatory, "religious" relationship with us. He doesn't need our talents or something from us either, He just wants our hearts.

God was overwhelming me with this truth today from Hosea 2 with this love song for His people.

"I will allure her, and bring her into the wilderness, and speak tenderly to her. And there I will give her vineyards and make the Valley of Achor a door of hope... And in that day, declares the Lord, you will call me ‘My Husband,’ and no longer will you call me ‘My Baal.’ [my master] For I will remove the names of the Baals [other lovers/gods] from her mouth, and they shall be remembered by name no more."

The book of Hosea is all about how God asked Hosea to marry a harlot who was continually unfaithful to him to show us how God loves His people despite our tendency to wander from Him. Super powerful stuff if you can imagine this in your own marriage or relationships... and then how we do this to God when we love and pursue other things more than Him.

Human love can never complete us the way God’s love was designed to, don’t fall for this Hallmark Holiday lie. It’s dangerous to stake our worth on whether or not someone else celebrates it, we are worthy because we are made in God’s image!

Take time to dwell on this Scripture above and the beautiful, unrelenting, unconditional love God has for us. Even though we can’t earn it and we don’t deserve it, He still loves and pursues us!
